Tamie grew tired of suffering from back pain and years of regular visits to the chiropractor. After the birth of her son, she turned to Pilates (thanks to the recommendation of a friend) as a source of regaining strength and a fitness level to care for a newborn and toddler. After her first mat class, she knew she had stumbled upon the type of strength training that would maintain a healthy mind, a strong core, and a happy spine. Tamie quickly became a regular at the studio in her seek of knowledge about the Pilates Method. Finally deciding to pursue a deeper understanding of Pilates, Tamie completed the Body Arts and Science Certification in 2006.
A love of Pilates has kept her in the studio teaching mat classes, and private sessions. She continues to teach elementary school in Ojai on a part-time basis. Tamie, having continued Pilates through her third pregnancy, is experiencing her first back pain-free pregnancy.
Pilates has enabled Tamie to continue the rigorous lifestyle she loves, being active with her children, coaching soccer, hiking, running, skiing, and gardening.
